This River Plate Driussi jersey 2016/17 special edition was released as a tribute to Ángel Labruna, one of the most legendary figures in River Plate history. The black design stood out from the club’s traditional colors and commemorated Labruna’s historic legacy as both a player and manager.

River Plate had a strong 2016/17 season under Marcelo Gallardo, competing at the top level of Argentine football while continuing to build a squad that would later dominate South American competitions. The team combined experienced leaders with talented young players emerging from the club’s academy.

Sebastián Driussi developed through the River Plate youth academy and played for the first team from 2013 to 2017. During his time at the club, he made over 100 appearances and scored more than 40 goals, becoming one of River Plate’s most important attacking players during the 2016/17 season. In 2017, he transferred to Zenit Saint Petersburg for a reported fee of around €15 million.
